Description

This kit allows you to set a quantity up to 9,999 digits and count down to zero. The inputs can be a relay, switch, or something more sophisticated such as a optical counter. The circuit could be used to count small parts or persons entering a theatre or building. When zero is reached, you have options as to how the circuit will react. It can trigger a relay or simple cycle back to the preset number etc. perhaps you want a light to come on or a hopper to stop feeding parts. A theme park may not want an event to occur until a certain numper of people have entered. The fastest count rate is about 30 counts per sceond. A debounce circuit eliminates switch/relay input problems that make other circuits less reliable. Operates on 9 to 12V dc and current runs between 20mA and 40mA depending upon the display digits. A 150mA (small) 12V ac wall adaptor works fine. Documentation included is very thorough, explains options, etc. A good kit for technical students to use with other design ideas. Soldering is required. Kit contains all components, screened PC board, and schematic. No. 80-154. KIT NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
