Description |
This kit lets you receive amateur radio CW and SSB transmissions in the 40 Meter ham radio band at 7.00Mhz to 7.300Mhz.
This receiver uses the direct conversion method which converts radio frequency signals directly to audio in a single step. In this circuit that function is primarily accomplished with the SA602 intergrated circuit. The IC also contains an oscillator circuit whose operation is controlled in part by varactor diodes and associated tuning components. Even though this kit is relatively simple and the receiver is easy to operate, it is still a high proformance circuit.
This circuit is provided with a fine-tuning commonly referred to as bandspread tuning. This makes it easy to tweak both CW and SSB signals for best reception anywhere across the full 40 Meter band. Kit output will drive headphones or a small speaker. The receiver is designed to operate from a 9V dc battery source or better yet 6 AA alkaline batteries in a holder. Board size is 3" x 3" inches. Kit includes a 6 page instruction booklet with assembly drawing and schematic. Antenna connector and 8 Ohm speaker not included.
This kit is perfect for schools, offers the builder not only the amateur radio band but also the short wave bands. Kit contains over 40 components and screened PC board.
