Description |
This kit lets you receive CW and WWV (time) transmissions in the 30 meter ham radio band. (10.10Mhz to 10.15Mhz)
This kit uses the direct conversion method which converts radio frequency signals directly to audio in a single step. In this circuit that function is primarily accomplished with the SA602 intergrated circuit. The IC also contains an oscillator circuit whose operation is controlled in part by varactor diodes and associated tuning components. This circuit is provided with a fine-tuning circuit commonly referred to as bandspread tuning. This makes it easy to tweak both CW signals and the WWV AM signal at 10.00Mhz for best reception. Kit output will drive headphones or a small speaker. This receiver is designed to operate from a 9VDC battery source or better yet 6 AA alkaline batteries in a holder. Board size is 3" x 3" inches.
Kit includes a 6 page instruction booklet with assembly drawing and schematic. Antenna connector and 8 Ohm speaker not included. Kit contains over 40 components and screened PC board. This kit contains small parts and requires assembly.
