Description |
This receiver kit uses the direct conversion method to receive amateur radio CW and Voice SSB transmissions in the 20 Meter ham band at 14.00MHz to 14.35MHz. The direct conversion method converts radio frequency signals directly to audio in a single step. In this circuit that function is primarily accomplished in the SA602 intergrated circuit. The IC also contains an oscillator circuit whose operation is controlled in part by varactor diodes and associated tuning components.
This circuit is provided with a fine tuning circuit commonly referred to as bandspread tuning. This makes it easy to tweak both CW and SSB signals for the best reception across entire 20 Meter band. This receiver is designed to operate from 9VDC battery source or better yet 6 AA alkaline batteries in a holder. Board size is 3"x3" inches. Kit includes a 6 page instruction booklet with assembly drawing and schematic. Kit contains over 40 components and screened PC board.
This kit has small parts and requires assembly.
